I bought this one back in the day, and I was super impressed how well it worked to keep the smell and dirty diapers stored away inside. When it opened I didn’t have to put my entire hand to push it all the way down. You just have to open it and you can use your your foot and throw in a diaper super fast and don’t have to leave your baby unattended not even for a quick second, cause we all know anything could happen in a single second and I am really impressed with this!! I think all moms should own this in their house when they have a newborn!

It is amazing! It helps me a lot to keep my house clean and stinky diapers smell is not problem anymore. Anyone with children who are still in diapers really should invest in one of these ASAP.

Too Much of Good Thing

At first I loved this product with my oldest, but then it started to get too easy to forget as he got older and the diapers were fewer. Its a great product, but the odor free life and convenience of tossing diapers in led to some extreme smells when it was time to dispose of those diapers in the dumpster. Definitely a newborn friendly product to help tired parents keep the smells under wraps.

The Diaper Genie is one of those baby items I wasn’t sure I needed—but now I’m glad I have it. It really does keep the smell under control, even with a day’s worth (or more) of dirty diapers inside. The foot pedal is super convenient when you’ve got a squirmy baby in one hand and a loaded diaper in the other.

What I like:
• Odor control: It seriously works. No gross diaper smell in the nursery.
• Hands-free design: Easy to use and mess-free.
• Sleek look: It blends in and doesn’t scream “diaper pail.”

What could be better:
• The refill bags are a bit pricey (and you go through them quickly in the early days).
• It fills up faster than expected if you’re using bigger diapers or using it for every change.

Overall, the Diaper Genie is a solid choice if you want to keep your nursery smelling fresh without having to run diapers outside constantly. Not a must-have, but definitely a nice-to-have!

I LOVE this thing so much! A lot of my friends told me a diaper genie was not necessary and a waste of money but I honestly love it snd can't imagine newborn stage without it! My daughter just turned 2 and we are still using this daily! The smaller newborn-size 3 diapers fit a lot more in the bags but I still use it for the #2 diapers and throw the others in the trash. You can never smell the diapers inside if you are using the scent refills and even if you don't use them it still only smells when you go to change the bag for a second while you tie it up. I tell any of my expecting friends that this a MUST BUY!!

This is a good quality product. I like that it is metal instead of plastic. It does a pretty good job of keeping in the smells, but does let out a nasty smell when you put another diaper in... I like the foot pedal that opens it. It is annoying that the bags are so expensive. I like that you can customize the length of the bags. It works better for us to empty every couple of days rather than letting the diapers sit and smell worse, so I am glad I don't have to waste a bag of it is only half full.

Received one of those on our registry when I was first pregnant. Used it religiously the first year when baby was little. After a bit, the cost of replacing the bags inside got to be too much, so I switched to using just regular garbage bags from our local store, and it worked out pretty well. After my second baby, I switched over to a regular garbage can, with a lid that was easier to function one-handed and to keep my older kid out. Then I donated it to another mom.

it wasn’t a necessity, but it was a baby shower gift and i LOVED it!! super convenient and easy to empty and change bags. made changing and cleaning up diaper changes very easy and quick

it smells super bad as soon as you open the lid, it is better to just discard every dirty diaper to the actual trash and don’t have any smell inside your home

Easy to use diaper pail

Loved it so much we bought a second one. This is so simple to use, and can be done with a foot pedal. So your hands are free to deal with changing the diaper or keep your squirmy baby from rolling off the table. Our favorite diaper pail (we had the ubbi at first, but then movers destroyed it and we bought this one instead).

-can get air fresheners for it if you want

This is the only pail I have used since my son was born in 2022. We love it. It helps not having to walk downstairs when we have stinky diapers. Would definitely recommend! We will continue using this until my son outgrows needing diapers (unless we have another little one!).

This has been so convenient for us. Living in an upstairs apartment, our outdoor garbage isn’t the most convenient to get to every single time I change a diaper, (which is a lot for a new born) so having this upstairs to use for stinky diapers has been a life saver. It doesn’t get smelly at all. Is super slick and easy to use, and emptying is easy too. Will be using this in the future again

This is a great diaper pail. We found it very easy to set up and the size was also very accommodating. We would have loved for it to fit more diapers as we wait to throw out usually. Overall, I highly recommend this product for its ease of use and compactness!

I believe this is the best diaper pail for containing odors! I have not used one that does a better job. It is also easy to refill bags without exposing the entire house to the odor trapped inside as well. The only downside is the size--I wish I were able to fit more diapers inside. It is also difficult pushing the diapers into the trash can, but that's the price to pay for good odor control.

I have twin toddlers and a 7 month old - I wish I had used a Diaper Genie with the twins! There is ZERO smell in the nursery - it is AMAZING. I honestly thought we would be changing the regular trash can enough that there would be no smell, but we took out so many half filled trash bags because of the smelly diapers. With the Diaper Genie, there is no smell, no trash bag waste, no leaving the trash can lid open to air out a little bit. It makes the whole nursery feel cleaner. Perfect size, too!

I am loving using the diaper genie with my new baby! It is great at keeping any diaper smells completely contained, and is very hygienic. No odors escaping here! It was easy for me and my husband to set up, and we’re excited to keep using it. One note is that you do need to use the propriety bags for the diaper genie, so you’ll need to have a sufficient stash on hand!

This sucker locks in order like no other. I was highly impressed with the quality and durability of the Diaper Genie Select. With a toddler and an infant diapers are constant and poops are growing in size and smell. Its odor lock door truly keeps it in. I mostly like it but a few dislikes is the trap door. I like the claw better and the square fill insert. That means if you already have a Diaper Genie with the round you can’t use it. You have to buy both round and square.

This is a very nice, user friendly diaper pail. The stainless steel is easy to clean, but can be a little noisy when empty prior to placing diapers in. It holds a good amount of diapers and does very well at keeping the smells inside. Would prefer an automatic way to place the diapers in as to pushing them down. If you place a very wet or dirty diaper in and apply force to push it in, it can get on your hand. Overall, great quality.

Love the foot pedal and the little door that keeps the smell from taking over the house. I don’t love that it only works with the brand trash refills, though I understand it. My main complaint is that I wish it were bigger - the longer I can go without dealing with a bag of dirty diapers, the better! Though I will say it’s great for people with small spaces who want a diaper pail with a small footprint.

I have always been a practical new mom - I didn't want to waste money on things I viewed as a convenience or frivolous. For my first born I only used a lidded trash can for diapers and just held my breath walking through the garage. Now I have a newborn and a toddler. I am overrun with stinky diapers and was done with trying to make the cheap trash can work. Enter the Diaper Genie Select. Stink is gone. I have my garage back. My nose is happy. Easy to set up, the soft close lid is AMAZING.
