Little Canada

Little Canada is magical!
First of all, the amount of detail is simply astounding. I fully understand why it takes so long to create each province, its amazing.
When PTPA reached out for me to go and try out the experience I thought, well, may as well, but really wasn't expecting much because I didn't know much about it.
I was so pleasantly surprised! We all enjoyed, including my three little ones! I have a 4 yr. old, a 7 yr. old and 9 yr old and there was something for everyone. Truly a fabulous experience that I would recommend to every family including tourists coming to visit our beautiful city of Toronto.

What a beautiful exhibit - the details and the craftsmanship are beyond beautiful. The change from night to day was amazing and the extra visuals like fireworks on Parliament Hill are great additions. My 6 year old and her friend loved it - Maurice the Moose was a great way to get them interested. Too old for my 4 year old. Overall, I would recommend it for kids 8+ as they would be able to appreciate more and play the Where's Maurice game on their own.

What a great time we had! Our kids range in ages from 4-13 years of age (4 kids) and they all had a great time. The detail thats put into these miniature versions of cities is incredible. We LOVED the "easter eggs" and all the little details that went into making the experience a fun one. The staff were beyond polite, gave us free coat check, and while going through the exhibits, had answers for any of our questions. They even pointed out some of the funnier details of Batman and Robin climbing a mountain, and KISS having dinner in a little house!

We're excited to visit again once the new exhibits open later on this year. We'd highly recommend this to all families!

Our Little Canada adventure was a hit! Getting there was part of the fun. We took the Go train to Union station and the subway to Dundas. The entrance is conveniently connected to the station, so you don't even go outside. The exhibit is currently divided into six displays each representing a different geographic region. They start with Niagara Falls, one of the world's most recognizable tourist destinations. The Ottawa model included a large screen behind the Canadian Parliament building, which they projected a fireworks show on to. It was quite entertaining. Some other favorites were a ski resort in Quebec, and a recreation of the world's highest tides on the East Coast.

A big hit was the "Find the Moose" game. You're given a map with clues, and in each area you have to find 4 hidden moose. This really kept my kids engaged and helped them focus on the models.

I was surprised the tiny cafeteria didn't have more child friendly snacks. Since you can't bring in your own food, I recommend eating first to avoid hanger.

An interesting touch, they have a really cool machine that uses a 360 degree array of cameras that digitize you for the creation of your own miniature model. There is even an option to have your model permanently added to the exhibit. It is quite pricey ranging from $40 to almost $250 depending on what options you choose.

I highly recommend using the coat check so you don't have to lug around all your little one's jackets and backpacks.

Little Canada is a fun time for everyone. Grown-ups marvel at the details, and the kids love finding the hidden moose. We spent at least 2 hours, and would like to return when the upcoming displays for the Prairies, Rockies, and West Coast are added.
